lyrics

Tanked in the clutch of days unlikely
Sank the ways of yore
Onward! Sang the young with hymns a-plenty
Banking on one last war

Nigh was the dawn of the returning
High did the tide flow
By the light of the new crimson morning
The world was set aglow

Doctor of the voids, please advise
I can’t silence the inanimate cries
Will the dreamers of disorder arise
Faster than we realize

What will come? Nobody knows
It’s keeping everybody on their toes
Will it be like Lazarus arose
Or bone snapping from the final blow

Never could I trust
Song dictated by
The blurred vision of
A nearsighted eye
But now I can see
The edge of pretend
Falling towards the earth
In urgent descent

If you find yourself
Communing with each
Grave ground into sand
By centuries’ grief
Try your best to reclaim
The innocence of youth
Need you a refrain
Need you much more proof

Four faeries fly following a grim savior
Four faeries fly guiding us to erasure

Leave it to the emblems of blight
To leave the anxious with a thief’s birthright
Leave it to an empire’s foresight
To set the kindling of resentment alight

Sons of solace, take your aim
For existence is a ruthless dame
And when the end comes to this ancient game
All is dust, yes, all is reclaimed

Though the wastelands may confound
The children know the way
Though nothing may seem profound
They know their true fate
So if we should meet our end
Don’t let it come too late
Be it by an accident
Or by the new crusade
